From the Estate of Nadine Tolman
Nadine Tolman began life in Saskatchewan, Canada, and moved with her family to Toronto in 1953. She attended the University of Toronto and, upon graduation, began her professional life as a school teacher. That life was interrupted when she met the love of her life, Fay Tolman, while vacationing in Nassau. Upon marrying Fay in 1970, Nadine moved to Williamson, New York, where Fay worked with Xerox. Several years later they left their beloved century-old home near Lake Ontario to move to Cary, North Carolina, where they began their realty business. Nadine continued to hone her skills as a master gardener, chef and baker. And always, there were Shelties who were an integral part of the Tolman family. In 2018, the Tolmans moved to The Cypress of Raleigh where Nadine quickly made both friends and contributions. Her love of movies developed into the Cinephile interest group, which she both created and led. Her talent as a poet became a gift she shared with her many friends upon special occasions. And the way she chose to "live with cancer" was an inspiration to all who were blessed to call her friend. Nadine valued education and, with her husband, was actively involved in creating the Acorn Scholarship Fund at The Cypress. This gift to the Acorn Scholarship Fund comes from the family and estate of Nadine Tolman. |
